THIS PAGE WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION AS WE LEARN NEW STRATEGIES FROM SITES, AS SITES SHARE "THINGS THAT WORK", AND AS NEW POLICIES OR PROCEDURES ARE DEVELOPED. THIS PAGE IS MEANT TO EVENTUALLY REPLACE THE FRONT PAGE STORY ON ORDER OF SELECTION.

First, users are encouraged to visit the "top story" on Order of Selection as that story contains the Desk Reference Manual, the OARs, and other important information about Order of Selection. That story is located at:

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL IDEAS

Many YTP practitioners have been asking about Information and Referral and what strategies might be available. The Hillsboro YTP site has discovered a GREAT resource in Oregon SafeNet. Individuals dial 211 from most cell phones or (503) 222-5555 from any phone. This is a STATEWIDE resource that can connect individuals to resources.

Even better, is the website connected to Oregon SafeNet. Framed below is that website. Like other sections of this website, you can navigate the Oregon SafeNet Website below without ever leaving the YTP website. Simply use the scroll bars around the frame to move the Oregon SafeNet Website and click on any of their links within the frame.

Another Great Resource can be found at: http://www.yournextstepgrants.org/

From the Founder: Your Next Step™ was founded in 2009 by me, Sonia Bhagwan, a single mother who has been volunteering and helping families since 1992. I have worked with chronically homeless families, survivors of domestic violence, at-risk youth and recovering addicts/alcoholics. In the midst of my social work, I encountered my own personal demons and difficult challenges. I was very fortunate to know about the local resources available. With the help of local agencies (and donations and my family), I was able to pull myself out of the rut and move on to my next step—becoming a stable person and strong mother to my daughter. It is with great pleasure that I provide this website—a service I believe will be an important tool for families in need. Thank you again for taking the time to visit us.
